Liberalization in the European energy market seems to progress constantly. Since 2007 the
electricity and gas market is open for all participants. Risk management tools were enhanced
continuously too.
ENDEX, for example, offers futures on Zeebrugge and TTF gas delivery and in the year 2007
EEX started the spot and futures market concerning natural gas in Germany. 2008 EEX lowered
the transaction charge and further corrections were done.
Meteodat offers tools in the field of production forecast and demand forecast pretty much as
risk management tools for hedging transactions. Meteorological and hydrological
forecasts outline the modeling of energy price indices as well as the indices of
CO2 certificates.
